Real estate broker inBerthierville

Berthierville is the town where Gilles Villeneuve grew up, and I love showing an old town centre with real character a stone's throw from the islands of Lac Saint-Pierre.

Living in Berthierville

The seigneury of Berthier was granted in 1672, and the town celebrated its 350th anniversary in 2022; it has been called Berthierville since 1942. The seat of the D'Autray RCM, it lies at the crossing of Routes 138 and 158, near Highway 40, between Montréal and Trois-Rivières. Its heritage includes the Cuthbert chapel from 1786 and the Sainte-Geneviève church, and the archipelago of the îles de Berthier extends at the entrance to Lac Saint-Pierre. You will find families, retirees and workers from the region here.

My favourite spot in Berthierville

Musée Gilles-Villeneuve

Museum

Opened in 1988 in the town where the driver grew up, the museum presents race cars, competition snowmobiles, trophies, helmets and memorabilia of Gilles Villeneuve, his brother Jacques and his son Jacques. A must-stop for motorsport fans.

« Few towns of 4,000 residents have a museum devoted to a Formula 1 driver. Berthierville is proud of its history, and you can feel it when you walk around. »
