Real estate broker inTerrebonne

What strikes me about Terrebonne is that within a few minutes you go from the 19th-century mills of the Île-des-Moulins to an eco-neighbourhood like Urbanova.

Living in Terrebonne

Bordered on the south by the Mille Îles River, Terrebonne is the largest city on the North Shore and the seat of the Les Moulins RCM. The current city was born in 2001 from the merger of Terrebonne, Lachenaie and La Plaine, which explains the variety of its sectors, from historic Old Terrebonne to recent residential neighbourhoods. The city is home to the Cégep régional de Lanaudière à Terrebonne and the Pierre-Le Gardeur hospital, in the Lachenaie sector. Families, commuters, retirees and first-time buyers can each find their kind of neighbourhood here.

My favourite spot in Terrebonne

Site historique de l'Île-des-Moulins

Historic site

In the heart of Old Terrebonne, the island is home to the seigneurial office, the former bakery and several mills from a major 19th-century pre-industrial complex, designated a historic site in 1973. Exhibits, guided tours and outdoor shows make it a lively place, especially in summer.

« I find that the Île-des-Moulins explains Old Terrebonne well: visiting it, you understand why this sector has a heritage charm you do not find in the more recent neighbourhoods. »
