Real estate broker inSainte-Thérèse

In Sainte-Thérèse, I love that you can step off the train, have dinner on rue Turgeon and catch a show at the Théâtre Lionel-Groulx without getting back in the car.

Living in Sainte-Thérèse

Sainte-Thérèse owes its name to the seigneury developed under Marie-Thérèse Dugué de Boisbriand; established as a village in 1849, it is the historic central city of the RCM. Its former seminary, built starting in 1881 and designated a heritage building, now houses the Collège Lionel-Groulx, renowned for its theatre and music programs. The city presents itself as a "city of arts and culture," with a lively downtown around rues Blainville Ouest, Turgeon and Saint-Joseph. Students, young professionals, commuters and retirees enjoy its compact neighbourhood life.

Why Sainte-Thérèse

What draws people here

Transportation

The Sainte-Thérèse station, with its park-and-ride lot, is in the heart of the city, at the junction of Highways 15 and 640.

Education

The Collège Lionel-Groulx occupies the former Sainte-Thérèse seminary, designated a heritage building in 2012.

Culture

The Théâtre Lionel-Groulx, the Cabaret BMO Sainte-Thérèse and the Santa Teresa festival bring downtown to life.

Employment

The Paccar plant, which assembles Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks, is one of the city's main industrial employers.

My favourite spot in Sainte-Thérèse

Théâtre Lionel-Groulx (Odyscène)

Performance hall

Renovated in 2016, this hall on rue Duquet, on the Collège Lionel-Groulx campus, hosts comedy, music, theatre and film, programmed by Odyscène together with the Cabaret BMO on rue Turgeon. It is one of the North Shore's main stages, a few minutes' walk from the station.

« What I notice in Sainte-Thérèse is that the cultural life around the Collège Lionel-Groulx and Odyscène gives downtown a vibrancy rarely found in a city of this size. »
