Real estate broker inSaint-Charles-sur-Richelieu

To me, Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu is a waterfront farming village where the history of the Patriotes is still very much alive.

Living in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu

Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu occupies the east bank of the Richelieu, northeast of Beloeil, along about 14 kilometres of shoreline. The village hosted the Assembly of the Six Counties in October 1837, then the Battle of Saint-Charles on November 25, 1837, a defining episode of the Patriotes Rebellion. Its landscape is mostly agricultural, crossed by chemin des Patriotes (Route 133). It's home to families, farmers and people looking for a rural setting near the Richelieu Valley.

My favourite spot in Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu

Parc des Patriotes

Historic site

In the heart of the village, this park pays tribute to the Patriotes with a monument erected for the centennial of the 1837 battle and many interpretation panels. It's located near the ferry and the shops, making it a natural stop on a drive along chemin des Patriotes.

« I like to suggest a drive along chemin des Patriotes with a stop at parc des Patriotes, then a ferry crossing to Saint-Marc: it's the best way to discover the village. »
