Living in Mercier
Formerly called Sainte-Philomène, the city took the name of Honoré Mercier, premier of Québec from 1887 to 1891, in 1968. It stretches on either side of Route 138, between Châteauguay and Sainte-Martine, with residential neighbourhoods surrounded by farmland. Its nine parks, including Parc Loiselle and Parc des Hirondelles, anchor neighbourhood life. Many young families and commuters who work in the Montréal area live here.

Microbrewery and distillery
Opened in 2018 on boulevard Saint-Jean-Baptiste by people from Mercier and Léry, Champ Libre brews its beers and distills its spirits using mostly Québec ingredients. Its tasting room has become a gathering place for the region.
