Real estate broker inBoisbriand

To me, Boisbriand is the example of a city that managed to reinvent itself after the GM plant closed, without losing its access to the rivière des Mille Îles.

Living in Boisbriand

Incorporated in 1946 as Sainte-Thérèse-Ouest, the municipality took the name Boisbriand in 1974. From 1965 to 2002, it was home to General Motors' only automobile assembly plant in Quebec; the site has become the Faubourg Boisbriand, a commercial and residential hub. Crossed by Highways 13, 15 and 640, the city is an important industrial crossroads of the North Shore, while also running along the rivière des Mille Îles to the south. You will find families, commuters and many industrial park workers.

Seven industrial parks, including the parc Curé-Boivin and the Faubourg Boisbriand, bring together some 300 industrial businesses.

River

The parc des Berges and the Centre d'interprétation de la nature provide access to the rivière des Mille Îles for walking, fishing and non-motorized boating.

Shopping

The Faubourg Boisbriand, built on the former GM site, and the Terrasses Boisbriand form the main commercial hubs.

My favourite spot in Boisbriand

Centre d'interprétation de la nature de Boisbriand

Nature park

On rue de Chavigny, this conservation woodland of about 4 hectares offers more than a kilometre of trails, four lookouts over the rivière des Mille Îles, a bird garden and a butterfly garden. It is a simple, free place to watch the river, fish or picnic a stone's throw from residential neighbourhoods.

« I find that the lookouts at the Centre d'interprétation de la nature show a side of Boisbriand that is easy to forget when you only know it for its highways and industrial parks. »
