Real estate broker inMontréal-Est

What I find fascinating about Montréal-Est is that a town conceived in 1910 as a garden city became the country's largest refining centre.

Living in Montréal-Est

Montréal-Est was founded in 1910 by Joseph Versailles, who imagined it as a garden city. As early as 1915, a first refinery set up here, followed by several others that made it Canada's main refining centre. Most closed in the 1980s, but the territory remains heavily industrial. A residential core is home to a small population, surrounded by the boroughs of east-end Montréal.

Joseph Versailles stained-glass window, by Guido Nincheri

Public art

Created in 1939 by Guido Nincheri, this stained-glass window depicts the town's first mayor overlooking industrial development. It is part of a group of public artworks, free to visit, around the town hall, the recreation centre and the library.
