Living in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

Located in the north of the island, on the banks of the Rivière des Prairies, the borough brings together Ahuntsic, annexed to Montréal in 1910, and Cartierville, annexed in 1916. The heritage site of the Ancien-Village-du-Sault-au-Récollet is a reminder of one of the island's oldest settlements. Fleury Street, the Parcours Gouin and many parks make it a leafy area. You'll find many families, retirees and long-established residents.

My favourite spot in Ahuntsic-Cartierville

Île-de-la-Visitation Nature Park

Nature park

The most urban of Montréal's nature parks runs along the Rivière des Prairies and includes the island of the same name, with the remains of old mills and the Maison du Pressoir. Walking trails, bike paths and lookouts over the river make it an outing accessible in every season.

« What strikes buyers discovering Ahuntsic is the presence of the river; a walk at the Île-de-la-Visitation shows why the streets near Gouin Boulevard are so sought after. »
