Real estate broker inL'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève

What I love about L'Île-Bizard is that you cross a bridge and suddenly feel like you're in the countryside, still in Montréal.

Living in L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève

The borough brings together Bizard Island, granted as a seigneury to Jacques Bizard in 1678, and the village of Sainte-Geneviève, on the island of Montréal, linked by the Jacques-Bizard Bridge. Long agricultural, the island began to urbanize with the arrival of the Royal Montreal Golf Club in 1959. Sainte-Geneviève preserves heritage buildings along Gouin Boulevard, including its church designed by Thomas Baillairgé. You'll find mostly families and retirees drawn by the large lots, the water and nature.

My favourite spot in L'Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève

Bois-de-l'Île-Bizard Nature Park

Nature park

Marshes, woodlands and a small beach in summer: this park is discovered notably by a long 500-metre boardwalk over the wetlands. Its trails can be explored on foot or by bike and, in winter, on snowshoes or cross-country skis.

« The long boardwalk at Bois-de-l'Île-Bizard is a great way to grasp the island's character: lots of water, lots of greenery, and little concrete. »
