Living in Sutton
Sutton was born in 2002 from the merger of the former town and the township of Sutton, making it a municipality with a vast territory. The village is located on Route 139, at the foot of the Sutton Mountains, near the Vermont border. The first Loyalists settled here around 1799, and the economy, initially agricultural, turned toward tourism after the ski resort opened in 1960. You will find permanent residents, retirees, artisans and second-home owners.
