Living in East Angus

East Angus developed at the confluence of the Saint-François and Eaton rivers, around the sawmill and paper mill that the industrialist William Angus had built there in 1881. The mill, acquired by Cascades in 1983, long set the rhythm of local life. The town still has several historic churches, including Christ Church (1886). You will find families, retirees and workers who want small-town life near Sherbrooke.

Why East Angus

What draws people here

Transportation

Routes 112, 214 and 253 connect East Angus to Sherbrooke and the rest of the Haut-Saint-François.

Heritage

The East Angus shed is part of the Haut-Saint-François Panoramic Sheds Circuit.

Recreation

The town has an 18-hole golf club and the Parc des Deux Rivières, accessible year-round.

My favourite spot in East Angus

Parc des Deux Rivières

Nature park

This 27-hectare urban forest park, at the confluence of the Saint-François and the Eaton, offers walking and cycling trails, an obstacle course and lookouts over both rivers. It is open year-round and its main trails are cleared of snow in winter.
