Living in Longueuil
Longueuil is the largest city on the South Shore and the central city of the agglomeration that bears its name. Its history goes back to the seigneury granted to Charles Le Moyne in 1657, but its current form dates from 2002: since the 2006 demerger, it has three boroughs, Le Vieux-Longueuil, Saint-Hubert and Greenfield Park. It has a metro line linked to downtown Montréal, two major hospitals, a CEGEP, university campuses and an airport. It attracts commuters and students just as much as families and retirees.

The only South Shore city served by the Montréal metro, plus commuter trains, several highways and the Saint-Hubert metropolitan airport.
Health and education
Hôpital Charles-LeMoyne, Hôpital Pierre-Boucher, Collège Édouard-Montpetit and the Université de Sherbrooke's Longueuil campus are all within its boundaries.
Employment
The aerospace hub, with Pratt & Whitney Canada and the Canadian Space Agency, carries a lot of weight in the local economy.

Urban park
Opened in 1975 as an outdoor recreation base, this large park of about 185 hectares offers hiking trails, cross-country ski trails, artificial lakes, a marsh and community gardens. It's where people go to walk or ski without leaving the city.
