Real estate broker inNorth Hatley

North Hatley is a village set like an amphitheatre at the end of Lake Massawippi, and every house seems to have been placed to look out over the water.

Living in North Hatley

North Hatley sits at the northern end of Lake Massawippi, whose shape forms a true natural amphitheatre around the village. Its first settlers were largely Loyalists from New England, and wealthy American summer residents later had grand summer homes built here. This architectural heritage still gives the village its unique character today. You will find year-round residents, artists and second-home owners devoted to the lake.

My favourite spot in North Hatley

Manoir Hovey

Historic inn

Built in 1900 as Henry Atkinson's summer residence, the estate became a hotel in the 1950s and is now part of Relais & Châteaux. Its gardens on the shore of Lake Massawippi perfectly illustrate the era of North Hatley's grand summer retreats.

« The Manoir Hovey tells the story of North Hatley well: that of grand summer houses that became year-round homes, still turned toward the lake. »
