Real estate broker inLorraine

Lorraine interests me because it is one of the few cities in Quebec planned all at once, with its power lines buried and not a single traffic light.

Living in Lorraine

Founded in 1960 on the former estate of the Garth family, Lorraine was designed from the outset as a residential city, with no industry and all of its utilities buried. It takes its name from the French region of Lorraine, and its streets recall figures and places from French history; it is also twinned with Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. Split in two sectors by Highway 640, it overlooks the rivière des Mille Îles and backs onto the forêt du Grand Coteau. You will find mostly families and professionals drawn by its single-family homes and green spaces.

Why Lorraine

What draws people here

Transportation

Highway 640 crosses the city and quickly connects it to Highway 15 and the Rosemère station.

Heritage

The Garth house, built in 1833 and designated a heritage building, serves as city hall; its stone barn-stable is among the largest of its kind in Quebec.

Nature

The forêt du Grand Coteau, the parc Lorraine and the domaine Garth offer trails close to every sector.

Urban planning

A city with no industry or traffic lights, Lorraine has all of its utility networks buried.

My favourite spot in Lorraine

Forêt du Grand Coteau

Forest and trails

The forest offers a 6 km main route open year-round and a 2.2 km interpretive trail that follows the ruisseau Dominique-Juteau. It is the perfect place to walk, run or discover wildlife without leaving the city.

« What strikes me in Lorraine is the consistency of the original plan: buried networks, no traffic lights and a forest within walking distance, you can still feel it in the atmosphere of the streets. »
