Real estate broker inDeux-Montagnes

To me, Deux-Montagnes is the example of a small city where you can take the REM downtown and put a kayak in the water at the end of the day.

Living in Deux-Montagnes

Deux-Montagnes is a small, compact city on the north shore of the rivière des Mille Îles, where it leaves the lac des Deux Montagnes. Founded in 1921 as Saint-Eustache-sur-le-Lac, it took its current name in 1963; the name comes from the lake and the seigneury named as early as 1674. Its history is tied to its former water mills, the memory of which lives on in the name Grand-Moulin. You will find mostly families and commuters drawn by its riverside parks and its two REM stations.

Why Deux-Montagnes

What draws people here

Transportation

Two REM stations, including the Deux-Montagnes terminus, offer departures every 5 minutes at rush hour toward Montréal.

Waterfront

Five riverside parks, including the parc linéaire Aimé-Struthers and the parc du Centenaire, run along the rivière des Mille Îles.

Nature and recreation

The Boisé-Roger-Lemoine nature reserve, the parc Olympia and the parc Bélair, with its restored CN locomotive, round out the offering.

My favourite spot in Deux-Montagnes

Parc du Centenaire

Riverside park

Opened in 2025 at the corner of chemin d'Oka and chemin Grand-Moulin, this park opens a new public access to the rivière des Mille Îles with a lookout, a renaturalized bank and features recalling the history of the mills. A dock lets you rent kayaks, canoes and paddleboards thanks to Éco-Nature | Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles.

« What I notice in Deux-Montagnes is the place being given back to the water: with the parc du Centenaire, the river becomes a place to live for everyone again, not just for waterfront residents. »
