Real estate broker inCrabtree

Crabtree interests me because it is a town born of a paper mill on the banks of the Ouareau, and you can even visit a cave there.

Living in Crabtree

Crabtree developed on the banks of the Ouareau River, a tributary of the L'Assomption River, after Edwin Crabtree bought land there in 1905 to build a paper mill harnessing waterpower. The post office opened the following year under the name Crabtree Mills; the mill, destroyed by fire in 1912, was rebuilt within a year. Today, Kruger Products still operates a mill in Crabtree. Located a few minutes from Joliette, the town attracts families and workers who are looking for more space and proximity to nature.

My favourite spot in Crabtree

Trou de Fée

Nature

This cave has about 133 metres of galleries, largely flooded, and can be visited from mid-May to mid-October with a helmet and lighting. It is an ideal first underground experience for the whole family, provided you bring warm clothing, as it is about 6 °C inside.
