Living in Hampstead
Hampstead was founded in 1914 by a group of Montréal businessmen, including Sir Herbert Holt, and takes its name from a London neighbourhood. Conceived as a garden city, it has curving streets and no retail businesses within its limits. A good part of its territory was once a golf course. It is an almost entirely residential town, sought after by families who want quiet near the centre of the island.
