Living in Magog

Magog was built where the Magog River flows out of Lake Memphrémagog, a location that first attracted industry. From the late 19th century and through much of the 20th, the local economy was dominated by textiles, notably with Dominion Textile. Since the 2002 merger with the Township of Magog and the village of Omerville, the city has combined a lively downtown with large, more rural areas. The lake and nearby Mont Orford have made it a sought-after resort destination for families, retirees and second-home owners.

My favourite spot in Magog

Marais de la Rivière-aux-Cerises

Nature

This wetland of about 150 hectares, protected by the LAMRAC organization, is criss-crossed by trails and boardwalks ideal for birdwatching. It reveals a wilder side of Magog, just minutes from downtown.
