Real estate broker inJoliette

To me, Joliette is proof that a mid-sized city can offer a real downtown, a major museum and a great classical music festival.

Living in Joliette

Joliette was founded in 1823 by Barthélemy Joliette and his wife Marie-Charlotte de Lanaudière, first under the name L'Industrie, before taking its current name in 1863. Built on the L'Assomption River, it is the seat of the Joliette RCM and of the judicial district. The Cégep régional de Lanaudière à Joliette, the Musée d'art de Joliette and the Festival de Lanaudière make it a cultural and service hub for the whole region. You will meet students, families, professionals and retirees who appreciate having services within walking distance.

The Cégep régional de Lanaudière à Joliette, the courthouse and the Galeries Joliette make it a regional service centre.

Founded in 1978 by Father Fernand Lindsay, the Festival de Lanaudière presents its concerts at the Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay, on boulevard Base-de-Roc.

My favourite spot in Joliette

Musée d'art de Joliette

Museum

Its collection of about 8,500 works, from early art to contemporary art, makes it one of the most important art museums in Quebec outside the major centres. Its temporary exhibitions and educational activities give a good reason to come back several times a year.

« What impresses me is that a museum of this scale is found in the heart of Joliette: it says a lot about the place of culture in the city. »
